On Thursday 28th July, we were privileged to have Pamela Clare, (The Make-Up Guru) run a make-up masterclass for us, here at Millbrooke House. It was a fascinating and entertaining evening with Pamela very kindly donating her time to help us raise money for the Society.
Also in attendance were Bob & Carol Bridgestock, the Island’s foremost crime novelists and also the Society’s patrons, who were instrumental in organising the event. Maggie and Kelvin Currie attended to interview key people at the event for Vectis Radio. There were book signings by Carol and Bob, Maggie Currie and Julie Clifton. Julie also had a rail of clothing from Dress for Less available.
Not only did Pamela show everyone how to put on make-up for everyday and special occasions, but attendees were treated to some stage make up where Pamela displayed ‘severed hands’, as well as painting bullet holes, bruising and cuts on various attendees.
Drinks and light refreshments were available during the half-time break with donations from Sainsbury’s.
Many thanks to Pamela, Bob and Carol and especially to staff at IWSB for organising the event and to everyone who attended.
