Privacy Policy

Isle of Wight Society for the Blind is committed to protecting the privacy of its clients, staff, volunteers and members.

Users of this website can visit the site without revealing their identity or providing any personal information.

The Society does collect information from everyone who voluntarily completes and submits any of the contact or registration forms on our website, from correspondence received at the Society and from information relayed to us by third parties.

The personal information provided by users or given to the Society by third parties is used by us to respond to enquiries or requests.  It may also be used to provide users with additional information by post or email.  This may include the Society’s newsletter, details of events, changes to the Society’s services and any other information that we consider may be relevant.

If any user does not want their personal information used in this way, please make sure that the Society is aware of this, by including this information on the contact form when completed, or by contacting the Society in writing, which includes email correspondence.

This website uses cookies.  A ‘cookie’ is a small text file which is placed onto the user’s hard drive when they visit a website.  The cookie collects information about the user’s movements through the website and could be used to identify that user when they return to the website.  This is purely for statistical information and to help the Society to make this website more specific to visitors.

Where cookies are used on a website, the user is informed of their presence and function and is able to disallow the cookie, which would prevent the cookie from being placed onto their hard drive.
