Story Writing Competition 2017

Thank you for supporting our recent short story writing competition.

Approximately sixty local companies and individuals donated time, expertise, talent, money or prizes and each one was acknowledged in the programme on the presentation evening. Over one hundred & twenty entries for the competition were received which was publicised widely on local radio, including several interviews at Vectis Radio, press and on social media.

Approximately one hundred people attended the prize giving in the presence of Miriam Tong, CEO, Paul Rutherford, Chairman and Chair from Newport Parish Council, Cllr. Geoff Brodie.

We were delighted to have Edana Minghella attend the ceremony and close the event with a song.

Overall, including sales and raffle on the evening of the 18th December, £650.00 was raised for the Society.
