Message from the Talking News Team: Please can we can ask listeners to check if they have any extra talking news wallets at home. We have a number of listeners who are using only one wallet when there should be two wallets for each person in the system. If you have any extra wallets, please return them so we can ensure a smooth and continuous supply of the Talking News each week. Thank you.

Message from Laura Jasper: Thank you to everyone who has replied to the consent form which was sent out last week. I have had a number of replies sent in the enclosed return envelope which have had a postage stamp put on them. Please remember that we stamp all return envelopes with an ‘articles for the blind’ stamp so you do not have to add extra postage to it. Just put it in a post box or hand it in to the post office. Putting a stamp on it does not save the Society any money as the ‘articles for the blind’ system is provided free by Royal Mail. Thank you.

Local volunteers from the Guide Dogs Charity will be visiting a number of venues over the next few months talking about the work of the Charity and how you can be involved. They will be at Ryde Library on the 21st July and Ventnor Library on the 18th August. All the library venue times will be 10.30am till 2.30pm. You can also find them at the Isle of Wight Community Club Open Day at Park Road in Cowes on August 27th from 12 noon onwards.
