Millbrooke House Maintenance

Posted in on

Society activities were suspended for essential maintenance to Millbrooke House during August, with staff making good use of the space and time available.  What was the 'Rehabillitation Team' room had become a bit of a dumping ground of equipment etc.  This has been cleared so it can now be used as a hot desk or an additional room for meetings etc.  In fact, it was used by a member of the Action On Hearing Loss team during their electricity outage.

The Resource Room is almost complete as Tim and Chris have been sorting through equipment, with help from Estelle and making more space so that the area can be utilised more effectively.  During our electricity outage, Estelle, Tim and Chris virtually completed it.  We are now awaiting shelving for the final part of the transformation and will be advertising the availability of the equipment for use by visually impaired and sighted people alike.

Tim and Chris painted the Activities Suite and continued into their own time to ensure it was finished on time.  The Society would like to thank Simon Booth from Dulux Decorating Centre, Newport, who very kindly donated all the paint, brushes etc. so thank you Simon for your generous support, both timewise and financial.

Chris has managed to sort out the Activities Suite End Room audio and visual equipment so this is now a properly functioning area which can now be used for training purposes, meetings, seminars and activities with the added bonus of being able to show videos with sound on the big screen!  It was used on Wednesday 21st September by Southern Vectis to demonstrate their new website.  It has also been booked for a three day training event for an outside organisation.  We now have a new video promoting the rooms so please let us know what you think.
