Society News Week Commencing Monday 17th September 2018

Laura will be attending the Our Place drop in session which is held at the West Wight Sports and Community Centre in Moa Place, Freshwater, between 10am and 12.00noon on Tuesday 18th September. She will have information about the Society, the clubs and activities available, as well as demonstrations of some low vision aids available. Come along and say hello, and enjoy a free tea or coffee.

The Ryde Swimming Group will be swimming at the Waterside pool in Ryde (08:00 - 08:45). The Swimming group has sole use of the pool during the session, and there are lifeguards in attendance. If you are interested in joining the group please contact the Society to advise us of your swimming ability and for us to advise the Waterside Pool.



We will be holding a Low Vision Open Day at Millbrooke House from 10.00am till 3.00pm. We will be joined by Professional Vision Services and Dolphin. Our resource room will also be open with a range of low vision aids available, both new and pre-owned. Parking and refreshments are available.  

The weekly coffee morning will be held at Millbrooke House from 10.30am. The coffee mornings are not just for blind and partially sighted people, anybody can come along and have a cup of coffee or tea as well a piece of cake.  

The Wednesday Social Group will be meeting at 2pm in Millbrooke house. The entertainment this week is ‘Just Sing’, a musical singing group. The group lasts approximately 45 Minutes, which is then followed by tea or coffee and cake.  



The Thursday Social Group is meeting at Millbrooke House. The group meets from 10.30am till 2.00pm. You can have a chat and knit if you wish, then later in the afternoon volunteers come in and read to the group from different topics.
