DESCRIPTION:Striders meet on the last Friday of every month. They walk on different routes around the Island and then finish off with lunch at a local pub or restaurant. The group is open to all visually impaired people who like longer walks in the countryside and\, of course\, there are always sighted guides on hand and the routes are always checked for suitability in advance. \nThe cost to walk with the group is £3.00 and when we do not leave from Newport\, transport can be provided at a cost of £2.50.

DESCRIPTION:We are deeply saddened by the news that Her Majesty The Queen has passed away and would like to send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.\n\n\nAfter hearing the sad news we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s low vision open day; however\, there will still be a Sight for Wight presence at Wendes Hall providing information from both Sight for Wight and Wight Sense.\n\n\nThe Macular Society and Eye Clinic Liaison Officer will also be in attendance offering support and a friendly face to anyone who comes along. Refreshments are available.\n\n\nWe will be at First Newport Scout Hut\, Wendes Hall\, Woodbine Close\, Newport PO30 1AF from 11:00am – 3:30pm.\n\n\nThis is a very sad time indeed and we are pleased we can still offer support to those who need it.
